Support, Custody, & Visitation
When disputes about custody, visitation, or child support arise in a separation, divorce or the ending of a long-term committed relationship, they can be particularly difficult for both parents, whether natural or a “second parent.” The court would always prefer that the couple come to an agreement between themselves regarding the terms of child custody and visitation.
If they cannot agree, however, there are several options available to resolve the issues between them, some of those options include:
- Mediation
- Parenting Agreement
- Collaborative Law
- Arbitration
- Court Action – The NC Courts will look at what is in the “best interest of the child” as it’s guiding factor in determining placement of the minor child.
