On June 2, the Western North Carolina Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys held the 2016 Women of Wisdom Celebration honoring women lawyers celebrating 25 years of service in our state. 24 local lawyers were honored with the Women of Wisdom Silver Service Award.
In addition to the Silver Service Awards, the Women of Wisdom Celebration annually presents the Themis Award. The Themis Award is presented to the person who has contributed the most to improving the status of women in the legal profession. The 2016 Awardee is deservedly Leah Broker of Asheville’s Broker & Hammrick firm.
