Biography

Dedicated to community service and to supporting different methods of alternative dispute resolution, in the past Ms. Stewart has served as the Assistant Director and Development Director of The Mediation Center, Inc. In addition, she served as an initial Board Member and the start-up Director of The Family Visitation Center Group, Inc. a nonprofit organization which provides safe child exchanges and supervised visitations for families who have issues with domestic violence or child abuse or neglect in Asheville. She has also served as a board member for the Mountain Adventure Renaissance Faire, Inc.

She is a graduate of Warren Wilson College and North Carolina Central University School of Law, Leadership Asheville 2003 and is a fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership. She has served as an adjunct professor at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College and is the past president of Asheville Toastmasters Club #436. A volunteer mediator at The Mediation Center and The Better Business Bureau of Asheville-Western North Carolina, she is currently serving as the President of the 28th Judicial District Bar Association.
